Up and waddling
After several months of being salty over my unsuccessful transition into a new career in web development, several more months of trying to find the ambition to build my personal site and several more months after that of deciding to actually deploy said personal site (I actually built this at a pretty respectable rate), the site is up and ready to rock! Now the trick is to actually use this to make it more worth-while. Not so much in a “hire me immediately as a web developer” way but in a therapeutic thought journal type of way.
The good news is that I’m now in a very different spot in my nursing career in comparison to where I was when I took the coding boot-camp. I have since landed an amazing Nurse Case Management position with an awesome organization, where I am actually valued, respected, treated like a person and where I actually feel like I’m making a difference. This has been a more-than-welcome change and for better or for worse, has taken the pressure off landing a web development or testing position. I’m not sure I’m ready to be completely done with web development though. I’m curious to see where I can take things and what I can build when I approach this as more of a hobby. I’m equally curious to see what emotional effects blogging on my own site that I build will have. We will see. To be continued!
