New Year, Same Me
Happy 2024! I’m super thankful to have had a blessed Holiday Season but I’m equally thankful that the chaos and over stimulation is over! It’s officially that time of year to reflect on where you’ve been and where you’re trying to go but I’ll admit, I’m not really an all-in New Years Resolution person. I mean I already wrote some very broad and general goals on my phone’s OneNote, mostly continuations of things I either started last year, meant to start or am actually seriously thinking about getting off my butt and starting at some point. I also only look at said list from time-to-time but it’s fun to revisit around New Years to see what I actually accomplished during the past year. Speaking of what I actually accomplished, I am proud to say that 2023 was the first year in a long while that wasn’t solely based on survival and rebuilding, which is a huge accomplishment in itself. This past year, I made huge progress with managing and maintaining my chronic neck and back pain, as well as my anxiety and depression. Thanks to the help of my awesome holistic wellness provider, I was also able to get my hormones right and am now surprisingly and joyously expecting my third and last miracle baby. I continued to learn, grow and generally excel as a Nurse Case Manager, which hasn’t always been easy, as medical is not my wheelhouse. I got more comfortable with being assertive and confident with setting healthy boundaries with others, which only took thirty-something years. When I stop and think about it, all of this is quite a bit to accomplish in a year, considering it’s all stuff that has to be done consistently over a period of time. Change is hard and not always linear. But it just goes to show that the best way to get something done is to just start, no matter how awkward it may look or feel. So here’s to a healthy, happy and prosperous 2024 with new and continued accomplishments…and most likely some survival.
